The Optima V has been developed for cutting mount board, folding cartonboard and corrugated board, PVC and corrugated plastic, foam board, Gator board, leather goods and cardboard shoe patterns. It features a polymer plate for in-line varnishing and has a top speed of 430mm per second.

It has two sizes - the Optima V 80 with a cutting area of 1230 x 800 mm and the Optima V 160 with a cutting area of 1230 x 1600 mm.

The Optima complements the company's existing flatbed plotter, the Matt Pro Ultra V, which can cut substrates of up to 5mm thickness.

Both machines are designed for cartons and displays, contour cutting and signage, embossing, and stickers and gaskets.

The Matt Pro Ultra V It has a top speed of 354mm per second, uses a pneumatic media holding system and is equipped with a camera for crop mark detection.

Managing director Nico Valiani said the machines, which start at between £20,000-£25,000, were well suited to companies looking for a cost-effective investment.

“It’s very versatile and cuts many materials. It’s very good at producing short and medium-length runs. Big name machines cost £100,000, our machine is for the people who can’t afford the big machines and they can do smaller jobs with much less investment,” he said.
